The Saints are pleased to share with our players and member families exciting news about exclusive access to an indoor facility! This week the Saints entered into an agreement with the new owners of Stampede Sports Arena in Southlake which will give our club priority access and use of this fantastic indoor facility. Located just minutes away from our Keller "Saints Field", this Southlake facility boasts two indoor fields and numerous amenities and superior, convenient parking. This agreement will reserve both fields for exclusive use of the Saints for the prime practice window of 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday through Thursday during the full soccer year. The Saints will also have priority access to the facility at other times outside the regular scheduled league games.
There will be no extraordinary fees for Saints teams for practice time in Stampede as it will be included in our annual fees. There will be other discounts available to our Saints families for league play and special events. This agreement allows the Saints to move its administrative home to Stampede and provides excellent accommodations for team meetings, film and classroom sessions, and gatherings for special occasions.
Nothing can replace the joy of outdoor soccer, especially at our wonderful field in Keller, but when weather threatens, we will "take it inside". We can never say never but this arrangement means we will no longer have to cancel practices due to rain, heat, or snow. (Well maybe not snow!) No other club in our area can match the advantages of being a Saint and we are proud to take this important step forward in our mission to offer the very best soccer experience to our community. Stay tuned for updates on future phases of the re-opening to normal soccer play, as these changes will affect both our outdoor and indoor operations.
Saints ASC Parents,
Today, Governor Abbott announced the new rules for the Phase 2 reopening of the Texas economy. There is positive news for the Saints ASC and all youth sports in Texas. Effective May 31, youth sports may reopen, albeit with some restrictions. Saints teams will be allowed to practice in groups of 10 players. Just as was the case when the limit was 4 players, we will segment our field in Keller to accommodate 3 groups of 10 players who will keep ample distance from each other. It is recommended that social distancing of 6 feet between players be maintained when possible, especially during drills. One parent or visitor per player may be a spectator at the practice. Spectators at the field must maintain the 6 foot distance rule. Although we have not heard from our leagues yet, games will be permitted as of June 15. The Saints ASC will be permitted to play scrimmage games as of that date.
It is strongly encouraged to avoid direct contact between players in practices and scrimmages. In the coming days, our coaches will draft a set of "game rules" that we want all players to strictly follow.
We have approval to conduct summer camp(s) within the same parameters set for practices. We will be giving you additional information on planned summer camps, very soon. We are also working on new opportunities for indoor play when weather limits the use of the Keller field. We will make an additional announcement about these plans very soon. With some self-discipline and positive attitude, Saints Soccer can look forward to one of our best summer seasons ever.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
